You NEED this in your home medicine chest🌼

Good Monday morning, my friend!!

Last month for the Arnica masterclass in the Confident Herbalist Tribe group one of the recipes was a formulation for Arnica-Comfrey salve with yarrow and other EO's that is seriously A-Mazing. This is the BEST salve I've made for bruising, sore muscles from overwork, and general pain caused by inflammation.

The secret is in the herbs and essential oils I used in the salve. Arnica has been used for jillions of years for topical pains. Plastic surgeons even suggest it as a precursor to surgery and also for after-care. Comfrey is another herb that herbalists use very sparingly internally, but for topical use, it has powerful skin healing, anti-inflammatory, and moisturizing benefits. I love comfrey!

For the essential oils...yes, I do love using my herbs and essential oils together in many ways. The essential oils provide a potent synergistic effect (working with the herbal actions) to make this salve a significantly powerful addition to your home apothecary.

I used yarrow, helichrysum, and frankincense. All are excellent for topical inflammation. The yarrow happens to be a blue oil, containing chamazulene, and this makes it an all-out winner in the BEST category for inflammation. (Any of the other blue oils will work, as they contain the same compound, but yarrow is specified for the skin.)

On top of the benefits....this is truly the most beautiful color of salve I've ever formulated. It's a deep turquoise blue-green. It's gorgeous. I think it would make a GREAT Father's Day gift! You can use the fast method to infuse the herbal oils if you don't have them at the ready.

Here's the recipe for you:

August 11, 2024 Good morning, Reader! We're deep into harvest time right now, and between foraging for medicinal herbs before they're gone (many are time sensitive), and gathering from our medicinal and food garden areas, I've got plants processing EVERYwhere---in our house on the hill and also on every surface and hanging structure down in town in the cottage clinic/studio/apothecary. I've been distilling more than usual this year. This coming week, I'm going to harvest my lemongrass and see...

August 4, 2024 Happy Scentsational Sunday, Reader! Have you heard of emotional intelligence? While we all pretty much know about intellectual intelligence (measured by an intelligence quotient standard), many aren't as familiar with emotional intelligence (EI, or EQ). Having higher EI has quite a great number of benefits, and I would dare say it's more important than IQ is. Have you ever watched the T.V. show "Young Sheldon"? Not only is it super funny and clean, the writers consistently...

July 31, 2024 Goodness! August is tomorrow, Reader! Does that sound crazy to you, too? Time seems to be going faster and faster these days. I wish there was an herb to slow it down a bit! 😂 But I can tell you how to enjoy these speedy days better---and that's to get some restful sleep. I know you know this already, but I think you'll enjoy knowing some herbal and aromatic things you can do to help you and yours! I've been studying sleep for over six months now, and have been experimenting on...
